Disease Triage and Quarantine Protocol

A sane response system for new arrivals, symptoms, and treatment without panic dosing.

11 min3 sections

Quarantine is about observation first

Do not medicate by default. Quarantine exists so you can feed, watch, and baseline behaviour, breathing, waste, and body condition before livestock enters the display.

Build a treatment decision tree

Separate external parasites, bacterial symptoms, digestive issues, and water-quality distress. Many cases labelled as disease are husbandry failures or transit stress. Diagnose before dosing.

Protecting shrimp and scaleless fish during treatment

Shrimp, loaches, and certain catfish react poorly to many medications. Always confirm active ingredients, remove chemical media when appropriate, and maintain oxygen aggressively during treatment.
